Poetry Edition

The poetry is a reserved edition in our collection of 20 that houses only poetry from our many poets (with the exception of the cartoons). Every page of the edition shall be poetry, so study it, read it over, and think it over.

poem of the month – JULY 2026

i wanna go home

“i wanna go home.”

     but where is home?

surely not the house where they raised you.

to wear a dress, take the stares,

act like it doesn’t kill you.

“i wanna go home.”

maybe “home” isn’t a place after all,

     but a person.

soft smiles, laughs turned to cackles, tears dribbling down cheeks,

     screams wailed between hollow pleas.

people hurt and fight and are entirely too much.

“i want… to go home.”

     perhaps home is a feeling,

     a prickle under skin.

     an electricity in the veins.

     oh but that’s not real,

     it’s not enough.

“i wanna go home!”

screamed, hands over ears and eyes screwed shut.

     it’s too much.

     there’s too much.

the warm light of a familiar room.

dimmed, so as not to trigger the mind.

with spaces dedicated for each person.

     shared, understood.

where tears are shed, and food is given

     whether hungry or not.

i wanna go home.

maybe home is a place after all.

Have the day you deserve.
